The rubbery-grip texture of the Pupzi's handle area is nicer than the plain plastic of our old Flexi. (The Flexi's spring finally broke after years of hard use.) The Pupzi's collar snap is smaller but is doing the job. The leash lock is similar to the old lead, and easy to use. We have used the Pupzi with our very energetic 55 pound dog several times a day for about a month now with no problems.

Overall a great retractable leash for the price. The recoil spring could be a little stronger so slack wouldn't occur when my dog changed direction and cause my dog to get tangle in the slack. The clip that attaches to the collar is really small, and is difficult to hold open and attach to the colllar .

The leash is made well, it retracts well and and locks easily. The only potential issue I see with the leash is the snap clip which hooks to the dogs collar is on the small side. This makes it a little difficult to attach the snap to my dog's harness which has two connection rings (one for each side of the harness). Other than that the leash has been great.

I didn't notice that this is a "ribbon leash" when I bought it. I have had disappointing results with ribbon leashes in the past. My dog is a 70 pound lab - pit bull mix and is very powerful; she destroyed my last ribbon leash in about 1 week. I have had this one for 2 weeks now, and so far it is holding up. I prefer "cable leashes" because they hold up better than the ribbon design. But so far, so good with this ribbon leash.

Grip is for a smaller hand. Cheaper retract mechanism and brake. Overall, it's not nearly as good as one that I paid $1 more for. Not the best for overly active 70+ lb dogs.
