These units were know to have problems with the ON/OFF switches, (mine did too....but it got me a $15 rebate from the gracious seller...) but in 1989, Realistic was on the cutting edge of 'enhanced' stereo separation with their "IMX Stereo Expander" control--which adds more 'depth' to the sound than what can be achieved with just fooling around with the bass/treble controls. The unit also has a "mid range" adjustment, that a lot of more expensive receivers lack. 60wpc power is more than enough for most listening areas--unless you live in a mansion with enormous rooms! All-in-all, this was an excellent buy for the $45 I spent to get it--very happy with it! Realistic and MCS stereo components are undervalued in the used stereo market, and I hope it stays that way!
