i have bought all three different knives in this range and found them to be excellent value .They cut well although i do find the other two blades ( a semi curved and a straighter blade ) more convenient to use . I have carved some fairly old hard pine with them with no problems and if at some point in the future they are still being sold i will buy more . I have a well known make of knife ,a f---cut and it cost me the same as all three of these knives . A very good buy .

I expected this to be better than what I was delivered? The name ‘Sheffield steel’ has always conjured a quality steel, not in this case, well the steel might be ok but the knife is rubbish! The blunt blade is a joke and the “chip” term should say soggy chip because being blunt I would have to take this knife to a wet stone or diamond stone for a day!!! The end of a chip knife should not have a rounded end like my one, the only saving grace is the handle being what looks like cherry wood but that might still be pine just stained??? The company said send it back??? For £7 odd its not worth it but they still should not send rubbish out!!! This will go into the rubbish pile with all the other rubbish that I’ve bought from crappy companies!

A good value knife. Sharpens well and stays keen . A good beginners detail whittling tool. I have only used it to carve basswood (linden or lime wood). I would prefer a thicker handle but knew what I was getting. For the price though it’s very good value. A good piece of Sheffield steel clinched it for me. Recommended

Looking at other reviews I had high hopes for this knife , unfortunately they were soon dashed. It’s poorly made, the blade had rust on it, it has a secondary bevel which it shouldn’t have being a chip carving knife, there is no raised flat spot for your thumb to sit on meaning your thumb is sat on the workpiece in front of the cutting edge and it’s so blunt it’s a danger to use. I know it was cheap but looking at the reviews I expected a lot better.

Does the job, sharp and is easy to sharpen. For the price a great little well made carver.
