The one item with this irrigation clock is the wires need to be solid not twist type. If twist-type you will need to do some light soldering to get them to push into the slots as they are not clamped by screw. Once this was done the wires pushed into the slots without issue. I had a few of the stations that did not show up as active to begin with but that was a miss-wiring on my part as I had two white or common wires and had only hooked one of them up. The good news is the system comes with two spots so it worked without issue. There are two slots at the bottom that I did not need and the booklet did not say what they were for but I figured like my Irritrol clock (replacing) I had that was for a pump relay startup type function which I did not need. Once I placed the second white wire into the slot and put the cover back on the system then informed me of the new stations so it corrects itself and would allow you to add future stations in the future with ease. It does connect to our WiFi without issue and if you did not have WiFi would probably connect to your cellphone via WiFi the same way. You will want that as I did not see a battery backup on this unit so it stores your setting on their site via the app. I like this as with my previous system it was having power issues and the D battery kept getting drained then the system would not come on or it would lose it mind. A real neat feature that I also like the fact that if I do have a leak or issue with a particular station I can use my phone to turn a section on and off very quickly once I figure out what the issue is or where the issue is. In the process of setting up I put in the station times and watering schedule manually and then put it in the Eco-forecast mode which changes the amount of watering base on the local forecast so that the system does not over water. I like it. It knows the weather from the internet. It has versatile setting controls and can be programmed either from the unit, an app or the website. My only problem was that two of the zone connectors seem not to work or the connector was loose inside -- they don't have screws. You just push the wire up and it is supposed to catch. All did not catch.

very easy to install, even easier to program schedule on the computer after linked up with wifi. you can have your own water schedule or use the smart watering to have the controller water according to your local rain forecast to save water.

I wanted a smart sprinkler controller and it was not important (to me) that it be part of a smart "family" e.g Nest, Google home, etc...It was overall easy to install, and its intuitiveness was (I would rate) approximately 6 out of 10, 1 being low and 10 being high. I have to add that mine came without instructions and I did not take the time to watch any youtube videos ahead of time. Had I done that, it would have made the setup much smoother. Pros: App is easy to navigate, setup and use. Setup is very easy once you understand how to enter data into the controller. My sprinkler valves operate much quieter and smoother. VERY easy to water just one station in-between schedules water times, from anywhere.Sleek and contemporary look and feel. Cons: Without instructions, it was not very intuitive to operate, however the app is intuitive but will not work until the controller is first setup at the mounting location.Read full review

The display is a little slow and the dial is a little lesser quality that a Nest, but it serves its purpose. Not like you're going to be looking at the display much anyway. Would recommend if you can find it under $200.
