Seller is a potential scammer. The item is way too over priced and it was never shipped. When I tried to cancel the order the seller hardly responded. I still haven’t gotten a response or refund. Beware do not purchase from this seller.

    Compact and easy to use

I've never tuned a piano before now but with this OT-120 tuner, a tuning wrench (with special 5.5mm square-socket to suit the pins on my 120-year-old pianola) and some rubber wedges I had no difficulty doing so. (However I did watch a few YouTube videos first.) I especially like the manual mode where I select the note I'm tuning and then apply extra tension to the string to bring needle up to the centre-point or loosen the tension to bring the needle down to the centre-point (as the case may be).

  • Most critical review

    I prefer CA-40 because....

I tried both Korg CA-40 and OT-120. They both have one weakness that you need to purchase a microphone to pick up the input sound especially in the range of c6 and above. Between OT-120 and CA-40. I would prefer CA-40. The digital readout is easy and the number readout give an indication of how close you are. It appears more accurate than OT-120. Initially, I thought OT-120 is more expensive and it might be more powerful or more accurate or more something. After tested it, I found the ability of accuracy is equal. A microphone to pick up the sound for the equipment is essential.

  • Can’t sense full range

Literature led me to believe that it would be responsive to the full range of 88 key piano. It’s response is poor at best within an octave of the piano extremes. This will be okay for most winds and guitars, but not useful for bass or piano extremes.

  • Many great features

In my opinion the Korg tuner OT_20 is the finest tuner ever.

  • A good value

It really helps when tuning in a noisy environment. Easy to use and very accurate. It is not suitable for tuning the high end octave of a piano. It does the rest just fine. It works great on an organ. Well built, and a nice case also. Instructions are well written.
