    Desired effect

    I take my dogs out for a walk every night, and last night I set up Fake TV in the kitchen, before going out, to see what it looked like from outside. Walking down the driveway, I looked back and noted to myself that the effect seemed believable. After all, how likely is it that a burglar would question whether flickering lights were fake or real TV? I took the dogs on their usual route, and returning to the house, absent-mindedly, for just a split second, wondered who was watching TV in the kitchen. I had to laugh at myself for my momentary lapse, but it really demonstrated the psychological effect of Fake TV. I can't say for sure that it will fool or discourage burglars, but I bet it will.

    Real Deal

    After reading reviews on fake FakeTV, I bought the original FakeTV and not a knock off. Great product and I don't worry about the house burning down when we take off for a weekend/vacation. It is bright and really looks like a TV is playing inside the house. I placed it in a room on the 2nd floor and then walked outside and watch that room's windows for awhile. Hey, it looks like a TV is on and then if the not-so-smart bad guys DO chance an entry, that's why we have an alarm/shotgun. This is cheap preventative insurance.

    Extra security while you are away

    I like the fact that this is plug-and-go. It comes on when it gets dark and stays on for 5 hours, or just use the "on" setting if you want it to stay on. It really does mimic a tv perfectly. It is quite bright. I keep mine behind a room divider so anyone peeking in the window won't see it is a fake tv. I plug mine into a fire-resistant extension cord because I hate leaving anything on while I'm gone. The cord switches off if it gets too warm. So far, I have left it plugged in for a week and it was still working and staying cool when I returned.

    Cleaver Idea !

    At first glance I looked at the product and it is VERY small and made of plastic (as most things are today). I plugged it in and was amazed! It does in fact simulate an active TV (less the sound) in the house. It has been advertised equivalent to a 27" TV; but it seems every bit as bright as my 60". For the price it seems a win!

    Fakes out the bad guys

    I've bought several of these to use in rental vacancies. Along with light timers, a radio, these things make it look as if someone is home. Certainly saves on leaving on your 65" 4K UHD TV.
