A Great Softbox, but...
First of all the pros, it’s a phenomenal soft box for back lit rim light, and is extremely good in the horizontal position. The diffusion is brilliant and I advise anyone who buys this one to try a shot with just the internal baffle. It really crispens the light up from top to bottom instead of side to side, but without any hot spots. Obviously because the horizontal light is then bigger your horizontal light thus softens. For the lighting opportunities these softboxes offer I’d say it’s foolish not to buy one, but do make sure you are fit and strong, because... The cons for this light is that it’s blooming hard to get up. It has the usual Godox speedring which has 8 holes in total and no direction as to which you need, I ended up using the holes with 1 over 2, how much does a few dabs of ... If the rods and holes were colour coded life would be a lot easier. The other con, and for me this is the biggest is that all the material slots for the rods are stitched down and the usual last one that you Velcro down once the rods are in position doesn’t exist. This makes setting up the boxes a bit of a wrestling match and taking them down is much worse. I’m sure with some practice I’ll find a better, possibly correct, way of doing this. If you want amazing light at an exceedingly reasonable price these are the boxes for you, the trade off is the difficulty getting them up and down. But when you’re taking images with these modifiers then all such difficulties leave your thoughts.

My concern is the locking feature on the connector, where it meets the light itself, because it is an OEM part the lock on the light body does not engage and lock the product in. The whole product becomes easily detached on any rotational movement because it is not secure, this is fine if you do not move the light when the product is attached, be very careful when rotating or when moving. In all you get what you pay for, just be careful of the locking problem.Goes together fine, materials are as expected. They work well when used. Really good quality softbox. The only slight problem was the Bowens compatible mounting ring which needed slight modification. Nothing to worry about at all really. Amazing value.

Learn the knack
Overall a great product, low price, and seems well put together. There's a bit of a knack to fitting it all together, I've decided to leave it open rather than pack it away after each shoot. Would welcome a smaller version, say 30 x 120cm.
