    You Get Exactly What You Pay When You Go Cheap On UHF RF Connectors

    Quality RF connectors are a third of how your radio system. You can spend good money on a decent radio, spend high dollar on quality cable, blow a wad on an antenna, but skimp on the connectors you just lost half of your system's performance. Amphenol connectors stand the test of time in mobile as well as fixed position stations. Cheap, generic Chinese connectors will most likely fail in a couple of year; had Amphenol connectors installed on custom built cables that last 10 years in harsh conditions without a problem. I replace all RF cables and connectors after 10 years of use. I never reuse UHF or any RF cable connector again as if the connector is correctly attached to a coaxial cable it will not be reusable.     High Quality Coaxial Plugs

    These connectors are high quality. The threads fit the female connectors perfectly. Soldering the braid and conductor is no problem. Adapters / reducers for smaller cable fit these plugs OK. I can find no faults and it's nice to have these in my stock.

    Stay away form Chinese knockoffs

    Stay with known brands like Amphenol when buying RF connectors. Cheap Chinese connectors rarely meet OEM specifications and are never a good buy when performance is important..

    Highest quality RF connectors

    Amphenol is the standard. The quality is excellent. Well worth the bit extra it costs. Superior materials, like silver plating, for example.
