About this product

Product Information

Set in an alternate history in which famed British leader Winston Churchill dies in a 1931 car accident and the United States never enters WWII, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty tells the story of the subsequent world dominance by the Axis Powers. Neville Chamberlain's Great Britain surrenders to Germany in 1940, followed by Hitler's Middle East incursion and the fall of Russia one year later, and, thanks to oil from its German ally, Japan is able to skirt the U.S. embargo and assert its dominance over Asia. A limited resistance movement forms in the United States in 1943, but an uneasy peace persists for a decade as no military action is taken. Then, beginning with a stunning assault on New York City, the German army takes over the United States thanks to state-of-the-art weapons developed by a Nazi war machine that never stopped churning.

The game begins with the surprise invasion of New York, as fighter jets streak through the clouds, massive battleships converge on the harbor, thousands of paratroopers and hulking tanks pepper the Manhattan skyline, and giant zeppelins the size of aircraft carriers blot out the sun. Players take on the role of Dan Carson, a blue-collar New York construction worker-turned resistance fighter, as he traverses girders and battles paratroopers in an attempt to escape the shell of an incomplete skyscraper now crumbling from the German assault. With no gun to defend himself, Carson must use brute strength and take advantage of the elevated environment to fend of the Nazi attackers and reach the ground before the building collapses. It gets no easier on the ground though, as players must then use guerilla tactics and more unique environmental kills to overcome superior weapons and battle the Nazi menace through the streets of New York City, Washington D.C., and London.

The Collector's Edition comes with a poster showcasing key events in the game's alternate history timeline, a book of concept art, a making of DVD, and the official soundtrack.

  • You're better off with Call of Duty 4

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this review. I would like to start off by stating that I have not yet completed the game but even if i had I really don't think it would change my opinion. The developers take a really good story idea - what if the nazi's were victorious in Europe and invaded America? - and ruined it with so-so graphics and just O.K. gameplay, and the online multiplayer feels like it was just thrown in as an afterthought. After playing Call of Duty 4, this games' enemies are hardly a challenge. Save the cash and pick up CoD 4.

  • Turning Point: Fall of Liberty Collector's Edition (Xbo

This game is the reason I bought a Xbox360 console! Unfortunately, the marketing and hype surrounding this game surpassed the actual gameplay. Set in New York in the 1950's, WW2 is raging on due to Americas isolationism. You are a construction worker on a high rise building when the Germans invade America! Great graphics of the invasion feature waves of huge aircraft carrying blimps. Jets, bombers and paratroopers disembark from these aerial behemoths. After you surprise a Nazi paratrooper, throwing him off a high rise, you pick up a weapon and you are on your way. You help the fledgeling US military fight off the invasion. From there on its just one multi opponent shoot out after another. While a great shooter, it kind of goes downhill from the exciting beginning. If you are a fan of ...
