Product Information

In Tempest X3 for the PlayStation, you control a claw that perches and crawls around the outer edge of a series of geometrically shaped, tube-like constructs, shooting down or out into the nebulous void of outer space. From the core of this void, fuseballs, rockets, pulsars, tankers, and other hazardous aliens and alien artifacts move toward your ship. Once you clear a screen, you fly into the void and onto the next level. Watch out for spikes as you advance.<br><br>This game features three modes of play: Classic Tempest, which is based on the early 1980s arcade smash simply titled Tempest; an update of Tempest called Tempest X, which features a jump feature, A.I. Droids that help you fight, and enhanced graphics and sound; and Tempest Duel, which pits you against a friend and the Generator, which cranks out an endless source of enemies.

    Tempest X3 is essentially Tempest 2000.

    Very fun game. I had Tempest 2000 on the Atari Jaguar. This is pretty much the same game, only way cheaper. Buy it before it gets overpriced like Tempest 2000.

    The product came in pretty good condition. As for the game itself, it's very addicting and although it may be visually overwhelming at times, it certainly didn't stop me from playing more. Who needs the Atari Jaguar for tempest 2000 when you got this gem right on the PS1?

    Back to space again.

    One of the biggest arcade shooters from the '80's got it's upgrade job done in the right way. Tempest X3, a port of Tempest 2000 for the Jaguar (mind you, Tempest 2000 is an unlockable in this game), sports everything that an update should have: new graphics, nice powerups, and bragging rights for the highest score nailed. If you like arcade shooters, give this a shot, or a super-zapper.

    Tempest X3 is a kick ass game. Nice old school graphics and sounds and also the original version of the game is included. Recommended. I wold buy it again. THX!!!
