The reel & hose seem well-made, but there is only 1 tap attachment which is clearly ONLY designed for use on an outside tap with a narrow & straight nozzle. It won't connect to any of my internal taps, so I can't use it without buying an adapter or getting my plumber to instal a garden tap. It should have an adjustable connection, or a selection. Also, the written assembly instructions are hopelessly inadequate - don't try to assemble the reel without watching the Hozelock website video.

    Functional hose reel

    It is what I expected, except that I had to connect the hose to the reel. In previous years, when I have bought a hose and reel the two have come connected. I would not normally mention this but it was because of the slight difficulty in connecting the two with this particular product. However I remain very pleased with it.

    Hose is good, reel is poor quality.

    The reel has come apart due to not being able to withstand the water pressure. The hose appears to be of good quality and has given no problems. An on/off switch at the nozzle end of the hose would be useful for a 30m hose.

    Hazelock 2412 Compact hosr

    This is a replacement of the same product I had for years. It has the same fault, either handtighten the extension or use a tool and fitting cracks. Can't handtighten anymore so is leaking at the moment.
