    The screwdriver is OK but the digital item, if you can see the read out is intermittent on low voltages ie 12v.

    Mains Tester - Easy to Use

    I needed to find out which connector on a room thermostat was 240V from the central heating timer. Searching online there seemed to be no standard colour of wire used nor standard terminal identifier. These testers found the correct terminal.
