Yup It Works!
I used this for a week of swimming about 100-400 meters off the coast of Puerto Vallarta, near Los Arcos, for swims between 1.5 and 2.5 miles. I was pretty skeptical that this would be practical, but that was overcome my my strong desire not to get hit by a boat or jet-ski. Someone took a photo of me from the balcony of the condo, over 100 meters from where I was swimming in the ocean. The buoy is by far the most visible part of me, dwarfing my neon green swim cap. Now, I was swimming in an area where I KNEW there would be boats, so I also had a family member escort me in a kayak. This area has a lot of tourist boats and despite the buoy, I still felt that something REALLY big like a kayak is prudent. I tested the dry bag feature and it kept my shirt dry over a 2 mile open ocean ...
