At last.
The crutches that were issued to me from NHS were not sufficient to bear my weight. They knew this and just gave me a second pair identical to the first - perhaps they thought that I could use two crutches in each hand and that would even out the weight. Asked for bariatric crutches and was told I would have to buy them. I have been trying differing sorts for eighteen months, none of which were as advertised/listed, or were so large and heavy that I would have to double my weight and muscle mass just to lift them. At last I spotted these. The difference they have made. I have purchased two pairs, one for upstairs when I get off my stairlift and one for downstairs.
