    Love Emmy Lou

    I am a huge Emmy Lou fan. And like Linda Ronstadt, her albums reflect her wide range of styles, although always with a definite "country" bent, and most always in English. This one is a dandy, very different from when I first listened to her, way way back in the 1970s. Red Dirt Girl is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard, and it's why I bought this album. The rest of it is pretty darn good, too. If you like her voice, you'll like this album.

    Similar Songs

    I think all the songs are so similar that I cannot tell the difference between one songs to the other. I also have difficulty understanding her words and the songs are rather flat. I believe Emmylou has a fantastic voice, but the songs are not that good. I am sorry that I felt differently than others.

    Ask questions before you purchase about tone quality.

    Great album but the bass on this pressing is extreme. I don't know if it's a batch or just a single CD, but even at low volume, most the cuts vibrate the speakers.

    amazing.

    Pure Emmylou, straight up, and always from the heart. i have most of her cds and albums... and what i have would be far from complete without Red Dirt Girl. It's hard to talk about favorites here... as they're all great... like Emmylou herself, eternally beautiful in spirit, soul, song and person. For what it's worth, and if it means anything to anyone, a few tracks that i wake up to some mornings in my head (more often than not) are: Tragedy Michelangelo The Pearl Red Dirt Girl Bang the Drum Slowly (a very moving song about her father) _______________________________________ If you don't have this CD, get it now ~ or as soon as you are can... you will love it peace, russ
