This collection, recorded toward the end of the '87 Tribute, is a solid collection of Skynyrd hits - problem is that the two forces that drove them to their astonomical rise in '76 and '77 weren't on stage. Ronnie Van Zant was the heart and soul behind the microphone, and Steve Gaines had brought superior writing and guitar playing to the band for a short stint that finally gave them the missing third guitar needed to produce the brash Skynyrd sound. Ronnie's younger brother, Johnny, takes the mic for this concert tour and does a good job, and the band sounds good overall. The lack of the third guitar gives this edition a much more tamed sound, though, and may sound a bit empty compared to the original band's final live recording, One More From the Road. For a true fan, this is worthwhile - just keep in mind that this is a shell of the original band...Read full review
I have the LP, needed the CD. This was the best Tour and album of 1987. The Band, the Promoters, the Industry and...the Fans were not ready. Nobody expected such a reaction. 10 years after the crash, the survivors got back together for the fans !!

I bought my first copy when this cd came out. I just bought another last week and its great. It has Steve Morse as a guest on one song and Charlie Daniels,Caldwell too. Freebird was being jammed by this band as early as 1969,and in 1973 it made history on the first album by them. That song Freebird to this day is one of the greatest rock songs ever. Also Allen Collins the guitarist who came up with the solo, should be credited with one of the all time guitar solos,he recorded that solo on one take,he was that good of a guitar player. This band is very good and will always be remembered for a great rock band. This cd is awesome, the songs sound great.
Great live performance by the best Southern Rock Band of All Time Then & Now!!! They might not be the original line up, but they are doing a great job keeping the music still relevant. Long Live Skynyrd!
