Buffy Sainte-Marie - Up Where We Belong (CD 1996)
Brilliant CD from a great singer and songwriter and very sad that more haven't heard of her. Appart from the classic and wonderful 'Soldier Blue', from the film of the same title, which led so many to her music, Buffy has wrote a lot of songs made famous by others. Some of these are included on this album. She is a Native American Indian and her work supports her people and makes others think about how we treat each other, how we treat Mother Earth and how we could change if only we could find the heart we are meant to have. I fully support her views and her music! If some of these songs do not bring a tear to your eye then you are a harder person than you should be and need to evaluate where you come from and where you are going to. Up where we belong [CD] - Buffy Sainte-Marie
I bought this CD because of my knowledge of Buffy Sainte-Marie's early work and this included some of those songs. They are actually re-recordings of the originals and very good although not quite as good as the original versions - with, unusually, some of the words slightly changed. The whole CD is worth it for a track I haven't heard before - "Goodnight". It is one of the best performances of any song I've heard for a long time. Most performances by this amazing singer and songwriter are exceptional and this CD is well worth listening to.I bought this CD because of my knowledge of Buffy Sainte-Marie's early work and this included some of those songs. I really lika Buffy Saint -Marie! I listen to her 1970. That was from the Movie Soldier Blue. Now I can hear her voice again! Thank you for this cd!

excellent selection of some of Buffy's best songs
excellent selection of some of Buffy's best songs with some unusual ones thrown in as well. I only just rediscovered Buffy when loading cd,s onto my mp3 now I want to hear all her songs.
