Inspired by the 2006 feature film directed by Bryan Singer, Superman Returns features an open-ended Metropolis spanning 80 square miles of bustling activity. The Man of Steel begins the game with his superpowers fully intact, including flight, x-ray vision, heat vision, super hearing, super strength, super speed, and super breath. How players use these powers within the urban setting is up to them. Cars can be completely melted or simply cut into, objects can be blown out of harm's way or frozen in place, and more. The storyline follows Superman as he returns to Earth after a five-year sabbatical in space. The city he loves is in constant peril from the likes of Metallo, Parasite, and the indomitable Lex Luthor. <br><br>The action takes place from a third-person perspective as players complete story-driven missions, engage in mini-games, and rescue people from imminent danger. Since Superman is nearly invincible, his success is tied to the level of collateral damage experienced by the good citizens of Metropolis. Players must be actively involved in saving pedestrians from runaway trains, tornados, collapsing buildings, and much more. If the city or its populace suffers, Superman will be unable to continue. The game's story-based objectives combine events from the film with new sequences, often involving the superhero tackling archvillains in stages specifically devoted to a lone enemy and its lackeys. Superman Returns also features an original orchestral soundtrack and voice acting from the film's principal actors, including Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, and newcomer Brandon Routh.

Bought the game due to seemingly flawless condition in pictures. Seller sent it in a plastic envelope with absolutely no protection. Case is now scuffed and shows damage that was not in listing pictures. CD is very dusty as well. This seller does not treat or ship their collectibles with care. Wiping down a cd takes a few seconds. Shipping in a bubbler or making a cardboard protector is very low cost. Will not buy again.

    Awesome game that really allows you to be superman

    I wish I knew about this game a long time ago, it really is amazing. It reminds me of the spider-man game with free roaming abilities throughout NY. But this is even better as Superman flying over and through Metropolis,

    Got the wrong order.

    I purchased this game just to find out it's a normal CD with Superman Returns print on or something. It's not a ps2 game. It doesn't run on PS2. I tried to run it on 3 different playstations which I tested to be working with other games but not the Superman. Any chance you could send me a real version of the game? Because I clearly didn't get what I ordered

    Superman's Return to Glory???

    Pros + A huge world to fly through with a few familiar faces & old enemies to fight. + A real sense of being Superman. Fly at dizzying speeds. Lift massive objects. Use unbelievable powers to save or destroy. + You can use cheat codes if you want to. Cons - Lots of glitches, some frustrating moments running & flying, & some annoyingly hard enemies. - Missions are repetitive and can interfere with other things around the city you may want to do more. - No real depth after you get past flying through Metropolis as Superman. Not enough interaction with the city. Comments Fans have waited for a great Superman game for awhile. Superman Returns delivers an enjoyable ride as Superman that is not as frustrating as the games that have came before it but still lacks deliveriing the most complete ...

    Superman Returns Game is good just like Movie

    I like this game because Superman Returns game has also released for movie.Game awsome everybody can play this game if they have PLAYSTATION 2 or PLAYSTATION 3 (only for 60GB Model CECHA01 or 80GB old model) because latest PLAYSTATION 3 doesn't play PLAYSTATION 2 game.So those who are Superman fans must play Superman Returns game.Thanks

    Not Super! SUPERMAN RETURNS!!!

    I originally decided to buy this game because of the hype that was built around it. It was supposed to be the most GLORIOUS Superman game ever created. The game play was supposed to put you at the helm of the only never ending power in the Universe after GOD and JESUS CHRIST Himself. Well, it was more akin to playing Superman on the N64. Gameplay is super cumbersome and monotonous. It is very hard to play and so I finally turned it over to a close friend who is a much more experienced gamer himself. He still has the game three months later and states that he is still trying to beat because it is just to hard. It is hard to control, the camera angels are terrible, the game play makes you feel week, you cannot possibly destroy enough stuff between pointless boughts with more drones or ...
