About this product

Product Information

"The Sith always betray one another. . . . I'm sure you'll learn that soon enough." The overthrow of the Republic is complete. The Separatist forces have been smashed, the Jedi Council nearly decimated, and the rest of the Order all but destroyed. Now absolute power rests in the iron fist of Darth Sidiousthe cunning Sith lord better known as the former Senator, now Emperor, Palpatine. But more remains to be done. Pockets of resistance in the galaxy must still be defeated and missing Jedi accounted for . . . and dealt with. These crucial tasks fall to the Emperor's ruthless enforcer, Darth Vader. In turn, the Dark Lord has groomed a lethal apprentice entrusted with a top-secret mission: to comb the galaxy and dispatch the last of his masters' enemies, thereby punctuating the dark side's victory with the Jedi's doom. Since childhood, Vader's nameless agent has known only the cold, mercenary creed of the Sith. His past is a void; his present, the carrying out of his deadly orders. But his future beckons like a glistening black jewel with the ultimate promise: to stand beside the only father he has ever known, with the galaxy at their feet. It is a destiny he can realize only by rising to the greatest challenge of his discipleship: destroying Emperor Palpatine. The apprentice's journeys will take him across the far reaches of the galaxy, from the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk to the junkyard planet of Raxus Prime. On these missions, the young Sith acolyte will forge an unlikely alliance with a ruined Jedi Master seeking redemption and wrestle with forbidden feelings for his beautiful comrade, Juno Eclipse. And he will be tested as never beforeby shattering revelations that strike at the very heart of all he believes and stir within him long-forgotten hopes of reclaiming his name . . . and changing his destiny.

  • A Better Version of the Video Game's Story

As a book, "The Force Unleashed" is competent if unspectacular. The writing itself certainly isn't bad, but it trusts the reader to be familiar with the Star Wars universe and setting in order to skip through a lot of clunky description; if you ARE a Star Wars fan, this won't be a problem, but newcomers would be totally lost. As a Star Wars story, however, "The Force Unleashed" is pretty good. Essentially, what you're getting is a better-detailed, more closely-examined look at the story presented in the video game of the same name. If you're a fan of that, or if you're a fan of the darker era that the story takes place in, then the story definitely delivers here. One of the things I liked best about the book, as opposed to the video game, is the attention payed to the character of Juno ...

  • Force Unleashed Book

It is a great and fast read. However, if you've played the game, there not much new here. Same great story and very similar dialogue. I bought it just to understand the story a little better and learned a bit more about the characters in the progress. Some action, i.e. the ending, is a bit different, but the outcome is the same. If you care to know a lot more about Juno Eclipse, or just want to know what's driving the characters, I highly recommend this book. If you don't care that much and can be content with just playing the game, save your money.

  • Reading after playing the Video Game

I enjoyed this book. I have played the video game so I already new 95% of the plot of this story, but the 5% that I gained was worth the read. In that extra 5% there is more character development for Juno and Galen. I enjoyed learning more about there characters. In the extra 5% you gain a better knowledge of Juno's and Galen's relationship towards one another as well as more of what is going through Galen's mind on each of the missions.

  • Great addition to the Star Wars saga.

HUGE fan of the Star Wars saga, big fan of the game. Gives you a greater insight of the award winning story behind the game. It also showcases the relationships, struggles and "force" behind the characters. Just another great chapter in the Star Wars Expanded Universe creating new characters and tying in familiar ones from the Prequels and Original Trilogy. Get a copy and enjoy!

  • Great book, very entretaining

a must have for any Star Wars Fan or collector...great reading...Great book, very entretaining. Liked every page, it expands the universe fully and lets you see the Force and experience it as if you were there...
