OK...bottled water is convenient, and pretty cheap! But, even on super sale, it is still about 15 cents a bottle. I had a Brita Pitcher, but was out of replacement filters. I decided to just buy this 3-pack and activate my pitcher again. Glad I did. I have gone through dozens of pitchers of water, save the bottles for the car, etc. Have a save a million dollars? Of course not. But I have probably saved the cost of the filters, and I am still on my same one! They last several hundred pitchers until you have to change them out! Get yourself a Brita Pitcher...with some filters. It's worth it. By the way... We have "good tap water" here in my city. There is no big after-taste, etc. But I drank a few swigs of the tap water, and then the Brita filtered water... I could INSTANTLY taste the difference. The Brita water was totally tasteless...clear...just purified water. Our city water had a slight, tolerable, slight...but a slight taste. So the filtering does make a difference. P.S. If you have a Brita Pitcher with an old filter in it that has been dry for months? Throw that filter out. The do "go bad". Put a new one in there to re-start.Read full review

There Is Always a Certain Level of Concern When the Item Container Is Old, Wore, Crushed, and Displaying Signs of Abuse ~ The Brita box was unexpectedly rough in texture, as if it had been wet for a while and handled while it was wet. The box had been obviously crushed, at least once and it appears more than once. When I opened the container the three filters were still in the standard plastic sleeve so I guess that the filters are okay. I have not yet needed to replace my Brita filter. I hope that the filters are okay when I do open the plastic sleeve.

We have a deep well that supplies our house with good quality water but heavy on iron. The water is safe to drink, but just doesn't taste very good. We use 2 Britta pitchers, one for our coffee pot and one in our refrigerator for drinking. One cartridge will last almost 2 months at our rate of consumption. You can tell when the cartridge needs to be replaced when you start to detect the taste of iron and it takes more than a few minutes for the water to drain through the pitcher. I also write the date on the cartridge just to keep track. I have been using Britta pitchers for at least twenty years now and feel it is a very cost effective way to supply yourself with safe, clean tasting water.

This product works as expected and has been servicing us for many years. I would highly recommend it.

These updated filters are excellent as they are easier to change and seem to filter a bit better. I never see the bits of charcoal that used to occasionally be in the filtered water. My only complaint is that they DO NOT last long enough for the price. Thus 4 stars instead of 5.
