    Still the best out there!

The DFR550 is still my favourite screwgun, even though this model is pretty long in the tooth now. It’s well balanced, feels good in the hand and will rattle out screws all day long; at a fraction of the price of a Festool or Hilti. Can’t wait for the replacement model; hopefully Makita incorporate the quick release nose of a Hilti, the silent operation and automatic mode of a Festool and ADD A ROTARY DRIVER MODE for those awkward screws that need a little more persuasion! For me though, there is no competition. The DFR is still the daddy.

  • Plaster boarding now a joy.

Wanted one for ages and don't know why i waited so long. Paid for its self in no time. Works with every ribbon of screws we have tried, light weight even with the battery converter ( using bosch ), and is easy to adjust for different screw lengths. Even 2 Ah batteries last an age. Only small criticism is why have reverse at all? Pain when you accidentally reverse it and can't work out what's going on. My bad I guess. Love it, Would recommend.

  • Excellent tool for plaster boarding on a large scale

I am building a house and needed to purchase a screw gun in order to secure over 360 2400mm x 1200mm boards to ceilings and walls. Suffice to say this tool has been invaluable. Easy to use and very lightweight it is a must for jobs such as the one I am busy with. With a 4 ah battery evening when it is being worked hard the battery lasts ages. It has saved an awful amount of time and effort enabling us to progress well by saving us 10 days on our project plan. Highly recommended. As far as I am concerned it is the best screw gun on the market.

  • Stick to plasterboard not plywood

This gun struggles with 9mm plywood but it’s mostly meant for plasterboard which it wouldn’t have an issue with. But the screws stick and don’t go in most of the time when using on plywood. Maybe I expected too much but I’m taking that into account.!

  • light and quick

there may be better guns on the market but not at this price a years work on site thousands of screws per week still going regular cleaning helps . this screwgun pays for it self in a very short time . batteries interchangable with multiple other tools i own and use on site . tradesman.
