Green Acres '40s style! • Down on the Farm

This wonderful 1947 movie with Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray is about a man who wants to be a chicken farmer and the city girl who marries him. Betty(Colbert) tries to be supportive but her enthusiasm wanes when she sees the horrible house that Bob(MacMurray) has bought in this backwoods country. Everything that can happen, happens......where is a handyman when you need one? Well...life is an endless battle with repairs, rain and the livestock. On top of it all they have a very sexy neighbor with an updated, modern farm who is flirting with Bob. Now we come to the fun family.....the Kettle's who live down the road. Pa is always dropping by to borrow something from Bob and Betty but finds excuses not to help them with repairs. Ma has her hands full with LOTS of kids in a house ...

  • A must see

I love this movie. It's very funny, and cute. And our first view of "ma and pa kettle" also very funny and went to make more movies of their own. I bought this movie because of the sentimental value of it as well as the great movie that it is. I remember watching it with my mother as a kid and many other times with her. There is nothing in my opinion to say that is bad about this movie. It is very entertaining and funny. It is one of those city girl goes to the country movies but, this one is done very well. They had picked the right cast, great directer, etc. this is a one of a kind movie. A must see.

  • THE EGG AND I

THERE ARE NO MOVIES TODAY THAT CAN COMPARE WITH THIS KIND OF A GREAT MOVIE. FRED MAC MURRY AND CLAUDETTE COLBERT ARE A JOY TO WATCH AS NEWLEY MARRIED COUPLE WHO START A NEW LIFE OTHER THEN THE ONE THEY HAD. ALSO ARE MA AND PA KETTLE TO ARE GREAT. THERE ARE LAUGHS, TEARS, INDIANS, AND SWEET LITTLE WHO ALWAYS IS WITH HER "INVISIBLE" HUSBAND. WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD MOVIES GONE. THEY WENT TO SEVERAL CHANNELS WHO SHOW THEM ALL THE TIME. THANK GOODNESS FOR THEM.

  • Good company, fast delivery, good product!

Very hard to locate for mother, was pleased with service and low price for never used tape. Only drawback was, they never returned my feedback rating which was excellent?!

  • The Egg and I

As a kid I loved the Ma & Pa Kettle movies, but I had never seen this particular one. I wanted to get the whole series of movies, so I needed this one to finish them out. When I watched it I thought it was great. I have them all now and I am very happy with them all.
