Contact - is there anybody out there ?

I’m 1/3 of the way through this read, which has been great so far. Familiar with the movie Contact and if I find a movie is good, I generally have a pattern of reading the book from which the film was adapted. Blends well with my current hobby of locating the planets within our solar system with my telescope and of course the star Vega (from which the Message comes from in the novel) with just the naked eye. Makes you wonder - is there anybody out there ?

The Carl Sagan mis leads people and speaks in circles about the same topics not moving forward with real info he knows chicken is dead’s time out !

Horrible book vague boing not based on our true facts here monuments speak for them selves as well as the technology left by kings down to our current presidents bushes and trumps . This and world has been influenced the whole time with high end extraterrestrials live here with us we are them with less ability’s do to a field here they he knows that . Our brain are off cause of atmosphere and grid of volcanoes keeps earth at around 8 hz . As well we are missing some dna to heal to talk telepathically . This writer knows we been visited thousands of times and influences in our politics and more .

  • Contact

Great sci-fi by a great astronomer! Plot summary Eleanor "Ellie" Arroway is the director of "Project Argus," in which scores of radio telescopes in New Mexico have been dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). Before long, the project does, indeed, discover the first confirmed communication from extraterrestrial beings, a repeating series of the first 261 prime numbers (a sequence of prime numbers is a commonly predicted first message from alien intelligence, since mathematics is considered a "universal language," and it is conjectured that algorithms that produce successive prime numbers are sufficiently complicated so as to require intelligence to implement them). This plot element copies aspects from the opening chapter of Will Eisner's Signal from Space ...

  • Excellent book!

This is an excellent book. I wanted to read it after seeing the movie. I found it interesting to read about issues that were important to Dr. Sagan. Written during the cold war, he illustrated the union and cooperation of all nations, in spite of their political differences. He also spend several chapters discussing how religion and science interact and how they can and should be compatible with each other. I also enjoyed the personal insights into the main characters. Excellent book, highly recommended.

  • E.T. n' Hitler

Ellie, Contact's main protagonist is the head of Project Argus, where radio telescopes in New Mexico are used to search for extra-terrestrial intelligence. Then of course, contact. A repeating series of prime numbers. Lady President, if you build it we will go. A film adaptation of the novel, starring Jodie Foster,Matthew McConaughey, and Larry King was released in 1997. A Brilliant novel ! willtrib - EasyCityBooks NOLA
