About this product

Product Information

Get ready to rumble (hug shirtless men and sweat a lot) with Title Match Pro Wrestling for the Atari 2600. You can challenge the computer or take on a friend in one-on-one or tag team bouts of macho expressionism. If you pin your opponent to the mat three times, it counts as a fall. Inflicting three falls wins you the match.

To move your fighter around the ring, all you have to do is guide him with the joystick. To have him pull off wrestling moves, you must hold in the fire button while maneuvering the joystick. Moves include punching, kicking, bear hugs, power lifts, back drops, elbow drops, body slams, airplane spins and canvas slams. You can even drag your opponent around the ring. If all of that is still not enough wrestling mania to tickle your fancy, you can climb the ropes and pounce on top of your opponent.

A feature called "Muscle Mode" is available to assist you in escaping from a bear hug or pin down. When you find yourself in such a position, jiggle the joystick to the left and right as fast as you can. This pumps up your power bar (strength indicator) and gives you a fighting chance.

To be a good wrestler in this game, you must sustain your strength while weakening your opponent. Strength in conjunction with skillful maneuvering will help you pin your opponent to the mat. There are four wrestlers from which to choose: Mad Dog (390 pounds), Skin Head (265 pounds), Mr. Mean (320 pounds) and Big Chief (420 pounds).

Next time you have an urge to body slam your sister or pin your brother to the ground, resist the temptation and plug in Title Match Pro Wrestling. It's much safer and far less painful.

  • Whatcha Gonna Do Brother?!

I was impressed with this title, but my advice is to find or print some instructions for it, because the control scheme is super advanced for a 2600. That being said, what you have here is a great wrestling game for the 2600 and a must have for collectors. I wish these guys had made a WWF game that plays like this, very impressive!
