After the auction finished the seller issued a refund without contacting me. When I queried why, they claimed they couldn't find the item and sent quite a rude message.

This is not true. I stated on the return my reasoning for the refund, which was issued 2 days after you paid. You then messaged threatening to leave negative feedback if I didn’t explain why. You clearly didn’t read the return status. A rude message was not sent, I simply explained that I couldn’t locate the item as I recently moved house and would happily message you if I found it. Not a fair reason to leave negative feedback.
