About this product

Product Information

For its entry into the crowded 2005 poker video game market, 2K Sports offers a role-playing approach to the contemporarily fashionable pastime. Based on the international tournament and Travel Channel television series of the same name, World Poker Tour has players developing custom characters who begin at the low-ante tables and must win their way up to the big-money games. As they gain status, player avatars can flaunt their newfound wealth with the purchase of accessories that help them to stand out from the crowd.

Winning won't always be easy, however, as players must compete against AI opponents based on real-life champs like Antonio "the Magician" Esfandiari, Michael "the Grinder" Mizrachi, and Phil "Unabomber" Laak. Billabong, Double Flop Hold 'Em, Omaha, Pineapple, Super Hold 'Em, Shanghai, Tahoe, Texas Hold 'Em, and other standard rules sets are available. Games are played in re-creations of World Poker Tour venues, such as Commerce Casino, The Bicycle Casino, and Aviation Club de France. Commentary is provided by virtual versions of television hosts Vince Van Patten and Mike Sexton.

Finally it arrived, I see why some collectors don't want it and it's because apart from the stamp it doesn't come in a box with its section for the memory card, it's a generic box and without an advertisement other than the manual. I have no problems since other than that everything comes with an original color manual, thick paper cover and blue disc. I recommend the seller, the price was ok.

The game came sealed as shown in the pictures, looks like it would if I bought it at the store. Great seller, even sent a receipt in the package

  • It calls you.........

Good game. They really go in depth with the ability to use facial expression to bluff and get skill in reading opponents. For its time it was a pretty good game. Ahead of its time actually. I like the make a character option. Its pretty decent and you can make good likenesses of just about anybody. I still don't think the deal is truly random though. And that bothered me a few times playing when I lost and even won hands that I knew could not be random. Of course this is a older game.

  • I LOVE THIS GAME

you can make your own person to look like you and the features are very realistic. i like how you can show emotions. when you dont want to play the game you can either watch it or skip the hand. overall, i really liked the game.
