Product Information

Developed and published by Jaleco Entertainment, Goblin Commander is a real-time strategy game built for play on consoles instead of desktop computers. The action is fast-paced and the control scheme is designed for a gamepad instead of a keyboard and mouse. The warfare is set in Ogriss, a fantasy land populated by goblins that is threatened by a dark corruption. Players command troops of goblin warriors bolstered by fantastical, powerful monsters. Before each mission, players choose from a selection of clan types, each with different battle specialties. Environments are destructible, to enhance both play and presentation. Development of Goblin Commander was lead by Ron Millar and Chris Millar, who worked previously for Blizzard Entertainment in play balancing, artist, and senior design roles.

    Not a bad title...

    I bought this game for my eldest son(10 y.o.)as he is really into strategy games at the moment. I played with him for an hour or so to write this review. The game is basically a straight forward, map-based strategy game. It's very similar to the old Command and Conquer games in that you have to manage troop movement, resources, and combat-types. The main difference is that you are managing 4 clans of Goblins instead of soldiers. Each clan has an affinity for technology, magic, etc. You choose your clan based on either of the attributes. The game is graphically, and gameplay-wise,very similar to the Predator vs. Aliens game. I am not a huge fan of strategy games(I don't have the patience;I basically just want to shoot things:)but my son enjoyed it and I didn't hate it.

    Bought this item because we are die hard fans of role playing and/or real time strategy gaming! Long overdue release of an updated version for modern platforms! Wonderful 3-D gaming environments! New great improvements to the game playability! Easier to select option items during game play! Numerous possible scenarios! Role playing games provide hours of endless play options! The controller improvements are much better with layout and functionality! Although there is always room for new improvements and/or up-grades...as initial use it somewhat cumbersome! Overall this game is a good value buy! A different take on the Guanlet style games!?!
