These alcohol inks have a nice, understated color. Comparing with Pinata inks, I would say the Pinata colors are more brilliant, more "out there." If you are looking for that effect then Pinata might be the way to go. I am not saying at all that the Holtz colors are dull, they are just not as wild. I use mine on Yupo paper and the behavior is great. One advantage they have is the needle nozzle. This gives the artist a lot more control. With this nozzle on the ink and on the alcohol bottle it is possible to make some fine, and interesting patterns. One more note on the colors: the two greens are a yellow-green and a blue-green. If you need something closer to a true green right between yellow and blue you might need to look at a different assortment.
