    The Mothman Prophecies

    3 reasons I loved this movie: 1) The bridge collapsed in a town just miles from where my father lived! He, and a neighbor, went to help after the collapse! 2) Movie partially filmed in Kittanning, PA, next to my husband's hometown! Richard Gere pulled into Kittanning and parked right in front of my favorite little restaurant I went to everytime I went shopping there! 3) The movie was based on a prophecy that a Washington Post newspaper writer (Richard Gere's wife) who was killed while investigating this strange occurrence. I was born in Georgetown, DC! My mother worked at the Post when she 1st went to DC! SO...that makes 4 connections I have to this movie! NOTE: The Mothman was never seen again after the bridge collapsed!

    Satisfied - Great Movie!

    Movie came in good shape as stated in description - there was some concerning scratches on the WS side of the disc but regardless it played perfectly with no problems. The case was beat up and has old pricing labels on it - which can be replaced. Glad to have this movie in my collection.

    Very entertaining take on an old legend. The characters were well played.

    I've heard about the incident re: The Silver Bridge collapse,,but this adds a whole new dimention to it. Characters were VERY engaging (Richard Gere, again), and his co-star (Debra Messing) were totally believeable. Loved seeing it fleshed out with some new stuff. Will definitely enjoy seeing it again!

    Base On True Events, This Is One Movie Eerie Movie That's A Must See.

    This is one creepy movie that keeps your interest. I have seen it several times, read the book, and already have the VHS. I bought the DVD because in case something happened to my VHS player. I do have a problem with the widescreen version, it paused 4 times when I watched it. I chalked it up as needed cleaning so I hope there is nothing wrong with the disk. A great movie that will have the hairs on the back of Ur neck standing.

    Just enough mystery to keep you attention

    I personally visited Point Pleasant and attended various Mothman discussions and the museum there is excellent. The movie tries to keep pace with what reportedly happened but the Richard Gere character never really existed. The collapse of the bridge was really folmed well, even though the rescue of the police woman was pretty lame.
