An intricate collage of books and photos, scissors and razors, and blood and skin eerily captures the dark, graphic tone of Fincher's intriguing mystery. The film cleverly avoids depicting most acts of violence onscreen, focusing instead on the cryptic remains of the crimes, allowing viewers to investigate along with the detectives. An example of nearly flawless filmmaking, the movie features a meticulously crafted screenplay, brilliant photography and design, sure-handed direction, and excellent performances from the entire cast. All of these elements combine to amazing effect in the film's unforgettably stunning finale.

This is a terrific thriller. Morgan Freeman is excellent as the jaded, cynical, soon-to-be-retired cop who wants desperately to nab the serial killer before he must retire. Brad Pitt is the young, angry, impetuous replacement for Freeman, who lets his emotions drive his relentless hunt for the killer. Kevin Spacey personifies the cool, calculating killer with a twisted mind that recalls images of Hannibal Lecter. A great procedural as the good guys piece together clues while they wrestle with their own internal demons. A surprise ending that you probably won't see coming.This is a terrific thriller. Great 2-disc deluxe set of a classic dark thriller.
Excellent 2-disc set - if you love this movie (and I do), it's a no-brainer that you buy this. Se7en is a classic creepy thriller/horror film by legendary director David Fincher ("The Social Network", "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") and shows all the hallmarks of Fincher's trademark style: rich, chiaroscuro lighting and composition, smart dialog, moral complexity, and fascinating, dark characters. The Platinum set has multiple film commentaries and a second disc full of fun extras that highlight the amazing amount of detail put into the making of the film.
