Seller was super quick to reply to my question and great to converse with. The book arrived in great time, earlier than the earliest of the expected window and was packaged very well and secure. It also arrived in great condition, in my opinion even better than described; looks as if it has never been read! Would buy from this seller again!

    A book report...

For even movie goers who have a passing interest in Hitchcock, this book is great coverage of his long and everlasting career. There is nobody like Hitchcock and this is a rare glimpse inside the genius mind as only Truffaut would tap.

  • Ultimate Guide to Hitchcock's Films

I purchased this one for a college course, but got more that I expected. Along with Robin Wood's "Hitchcock's Films Revisited" and David Spoto's "The Dark Side of Genius", this is the absolute guide to what Hitchcock meant when he made these films. However, Hitchcock's discussion also entails gossip about the stars and a significant amount of retrospection, even second-guessing about his own work. There is simply no reason not to have this book. Two of the premiere filmmakers of the 20th century talk shop, yet add something more profound to it. Truffaut's comments are appreciated because he comes from a critical perspective. That is, he was a critic before becoming a director. So when Hitch makes his observations about individual styles in his films, Truffaut can respond and relate them ...

  • Awesome book for film fans and students

If you are a film fan, you love movies, or you are studying films, this book is a must. Very thorough and long interview between Truffaut and Hitchcock. This book is not a guide on how to make a film, but it's more a historic set of anecdotes of Hitchcock's career.

  • Hitchcock speaks

This book, long out of print, is a wonderful insight into Hitchcock view of filmmaking….with another brilliant, albeit less prolific director….the book is slightly worn, but well worth a small investment for cinephiles….
