Despite the item's priciness and game difficulty, the item is a good buy overall. The game has good graphics along with compelling compelling gameplay and has features that one can't get with the NES Version of Batman The Video Game. The instruction Manual for this game is in pretty good condition and unlike the Batman Reproduction Version that I sold, the game cover is totally by the case plastic cover. Sincerely, Kevin Stroik

This is my review of Batman the game for genesis. In my opinion, it is the best of the 5 games starring batman on the genesis. BASED on the 1989 movie it follows the storyline pretty close. The visuals are pretty good for a generation 1 genesis game, batman is drawn well enough as are the criminals, and gotham has a dreary look about it. The games music is also pretty good. The thing i don't like is the fact that the game has a pretty slow pace, anyone who has played the nes version of this game knows what i am saying. The nes version had a great sense of urgency and speed of movement. Also, the nes version gave batman more weapons, the genesis version only gives batarangs. Another thing, the bosses on the genesis game are not as tough as the nes version. One thing this game has over the nes version are the 2 driving levels with the batmobile and batwing. All considered, i enjoy this game and so may you.Read full review
Batman: The Video Game was released for the Sega Mega Drive, which was inspired by the Tim Burton directed Batman film from 1989. The Mega Drive/Genesis version was also produced by Sunsoft. Critics were impressed by its graphics, sound, and playability. Similar to the NES version,it had limited commercial success because it took so long for the final product to be released, due to Nintendo's former policy of producing titles for a Nintendo system exclusively. By the time this policy was abandoned, the game was released in 1990. Unlike the NES,this version stays closer to the plot of the film, and features the Batmobile and Batwing in the form of horizontal shooting levels. While the NES version allows three unique weapons and unlimited continues, the Genesis version only has the Batarang as a special weapon with limited continues. The grappling hook is an additional item. The game also deviates from the film plot because in the film,Batman attempts to save Napier from falling into the chemicals, but fails. However in the game, Batman actually knocks Napier into the vat. This game has little or no cutscenes, instead the player advances to the next destination, after defeating a boss character. Like the NES version, the music was also composed by Naoki Kodaka.Read full review
