When my original DuraAce derailleur broke (it got caught in my spokes) I couldn't afford a new one and so I replaced it with a 105. It worked but no matter the fine tuning, for the past 3 years I struggled hitting the gears smooth and on the first try. Then I replaced it with a used DuraAce one and everything is smooth again. I can only recommend getting the original DuraAce if you have DuraAce parts.
