About the cheapest of the metal dial padlocks, the plastic ones are just too insecure, 20 seconds to get into most of them (including the Master one that's a similar price to this one). The cover makes it that 12mm plastic coated cable doesn't fit, so if you take the cover off it will, or you need 10mm cable. Like disc locks as they can't be forced, who knows how secure as haven't tried to break it.

I am ambivalent. The lock is decent quality and value in a way. I could recommend it for those with better sight and more nimble fingers maybe? But for me the numbers are too small and the mechanism too stiff for easy everyday use. I accept it is as much me as the lock itself but that I what I am reporting - my assessment. I am sure others would find it fine. As a side note the packaging is touch to get into and a little obscure too!

I have had Master locks in the past and have been excellent quality. This is a cheap lock. I have no doubt it will do the job at a pinch but the whole feel is nasty. The tumblers are not positive (loose) and the locking bar is a sloppy fit and has to be fed into the main body by hand to get the lock to activate. I have had for a month now and I think it will get replaced within a year or so, but time will tell.

Bought this to secure the doors of a Keter outdoor storage cupboard Iβd just ordered. It arrived before the cupboard did & it was very easy to use the enclosed key to set it up with my own 4 digit combination code. The lock itself has a reassuring weight to it, & the numbered dials need an amount of pressure applied to them in order to be turned meaning its impossible for them to revolve accidentally. There is a βfeelβ when you have a number properly aligned therefore itβs easy to position them correctly. The numbers are punched into the dials so wonβt rub away over time. Once all 4 numbers are lined up the lever can be pressed which opens the lock. When the cupboard is locked up there is no space left for anyone to be able to get bolt cutters in which makes this design preferable to a traditional style of padlock & the hardened carbide steel of the sharped bar would not relent anyway. This is a safe trustworthy lock. To close again you slide the bar closed and revolve the numbers to secure it therefore you know as you walk away your belongings are secure. Read full review

The side opening feels like itβs not de-burred properly and could cut when sliding open. The combination is fiddly to align not helped by the rubber shield making it awkward for the right side number to align or if left handed the left side. Overall feels poor quality and fiddly. No doubt it would take some resistance to break which is good but find it a frustrating fiddly lock to use.
