    I picked this book up a year or two ago. It sat on my bookshelf until a few weeks ago. I decided to pick it up and read it because of the conflict that was occurring in Lebanon. Wanting to understand more about the situation, I reached for this book. Thomas L. Friedman's book From Beirut to Jerusalem has made the situation in Lebanon and the conflict between the PLO and Israel much more clear to me. After reading this book, I understand the history of this conflict and things I have heard on the news, that always seems so mysterious, I now have some comprehension of. Friedman was an American journalist sent to Lebanon in the early 1980's to cover the Palestinian story there. In his book, he shares personal stories and insights, as well as biographical lines about key figures in the ...
