Quality of sound is pretty good but there is motor hum which is distracting during quiet sections but it is an fashioned feature which brings the vinyl experience to life. I guess I have become too used to the clinical feel of CD listening. It will give pleasure to revisit old vinyl friends in the months to come.

The turntable is great value especially as its fitted with a cartridge costing close to £100. The only problem with the turntable is the supplied anti skate weight . Its far too heavy and not just a little. Set according to the instructions the arm pulls violently to the right to such a extent its impossible to cue a record using the cueing lever. I used a test record to set the anti skate and ended up using a fishing line split shot that was far lighter than the supplied weight. Outside of this annoyance the table when set up is very simple to use and in this price range excellent value. Sound is good and the stylus tracks beautifully. I think the tone arm is excellent.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to get back into vinyl. I have a decent digital setup but I still have a small collection of records from 80s/90s. I had some money for Christmas so thought I would get a budget turntable to play them. Wow! I couldn't believe the sound quality. Now I'm cleaning all my old records and started buying new ones. I would highly recommend this turntable to anyone thinking of entering into vinyl or digging out their old collection. It's amazing.

i wanted a new turntable and some friends told me that around 1000€ to spend this was the best but ,i first notice that with the ground wire conected as it should a constant huming inbetween tracks and in lower parts of songs or more low music the hum was there ,i even tried to see if the ground wire was really conected ,than i went to a friends house that was one of the ones who told me this was the one to have , but the problem was the same but he thought it was a characteristic of the turntables ,so it delivers acurate reading of the grooves but always a continuous hum underneath the sound, i made some changes inside due to the engine being close to the output wires that conect to the female rca´s and change the way the ground wire is conected ,i did it as in my technics from 76 and perfect ,but not all have 35 years of experience in using diferent types of turntables ,so it´s in reality a project when one buys this but if well assembled it delivers perfect sound and taking of the equation the hum ,it´s better then some plastic turntables released in early 80´sRead full review

Great sound from this deck, easy to set up, well built and the carbon tonearm is superb. I owned my previous deck for over 30 years and the sound quality from the Pro-ject Carbon is a great improvement. Looks good too.
