About this product
Product Information
The interconnected stones that form Felipe Alfau's novel Locos take place in a Madrid as exotic as the Baghdad of the 1001 Arabian Nights and feature unforgettable characters in revolt against their young 'author' For them , he complains, reality is what fiction is to real people; they simply love it and make for it against ray almost heroic opposition Alfau's comedy of gestures -- a mercurial dreamscape of the eccentric, sometimes criminal, habitues of Toledo's Cafe of the Crazy -- was written in English and first published in 1936, favorably reviewed for The Nation by Mary McCarthy, as she recounts here in her Afterword, then long neglected.

- s***s (2970)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseCondition excellent, as described, well packaged, dispatched promptly.Excellent communication from seller. Arrived ahead of anticipated delivery dates. ARRIVED 1st May, expectected between 24th May and 3rd June. Thank you. No import tax payable. A very pleasing experience. Would recommend this seller. A book l have been seeking to replace for 7 years after it got misplaced when moving house after bereavement.
- a***l (338)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseAlthough the description details were misleading, the customer support was rather good. I ordered the 2-volume set of ‘Atlas Shrugged’, but received a single volume. It might not seem like much to others, but it’s a large book and a 2-set volume would have made it easier to read. In addition, poor packaging damaged the DJ. Anyways, after sending firm, yet precise and polite emails, the situation was promptly resolved, hence the positive feedback; and, why I would buy again from the seller. 👍
- c***r (537)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseBook as specified, rapid delivery (from USA to UK), and a reasonable price for the book. Overall, my book arrived in "ok quality" packaging. A padded "book mailer" envelope was used. However, inside, there was no other protective packaging. One small point of constructive feedback: perhaps cardboard packaging could have been implemented, as a number of competing book sellers are now implementing cardboard packaging, especially for higher price books subject to international delivery.
