Great picture crappy sound
This is to possibly replace a 42 inch from years back. Image quality is very good, vertical tearing is much reduced too. Didn't have to adjust settings much to get a good picture. It's framed well, not too heavy and can be installed by one person. There's two remotes, again this is handy for us, I've opted for the smaller one again as most of the functionality often used are on it and easy to find without looking at it. The smaller remote is charged with solar power, this will an issue eventually when the battery fails as its a sealed unit. The TV has terrible sound quality, much worse than the old 42" and that wasn't good either. It's like listening to sound down a drain pipe, no bass to speak of, hollow sounding tinny garbage. Using this TV as a screen only would be my advice, accompanied by a sound bar or hifi. I cannot get over how bad it sounds, to the point of thinking, "is it faulty?" it's that bad. The menu is relatively intuitive, pity it reverts to factory image settings when in use. Only the sources (free view, sky..) are effected by picture settings, such as brightness etc. It's snappier than our old 42" too, menu's are quicker to navigate and there's less warm-up time from power on. Plex runs faster on this TV, skipping/searching tracks with ease. Spotify gets muddled up after a time, displaying and selecting tracks incorrectly. ONLY OK WARRENTY CLAIM SYSTEM DIFFICULT AND CONFUSING
These tv's are ok but the sound is rubbish they are not as good as the 10 year old Panasonic it replaced also the warranty is a nightmare both the 5year tv and the 10year screen burn I was on the phone for 50 minutes to a call center whom I couldn't understand and I had to spell out every word to the operator my son finally did it for me on the web I complained to Buy It direct who did reply but were of little help I have many samsung appliances but probably wouldn't buy any more Go back to the warranty card in the box system And I would probably not use Buy it direct again not very helpfullVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
