About this product

Product Information

Windy X Windam is a 2D fighting game in which characters are granted special powers, chiefly the ability to fly, by a force known as "Windies." The combat was designed specifically to take full advantage of the DS, with aerial matches extending to the top screen. Combat is handled primarily with standard kicks and punches, but a "Boost Gauge" and a "Windam Gauge" can be charged to unleash special "ultimate techniques." Each of the characters in the game has a full backstory, and the characters Izuna and Shino are transplants from developer NinjaStudio Limited's other series to come to North America, Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja. Gamers can take on "Battle," "Training," "Versus," and "Ranked Matches" modes, and fans of multiplayer action need only one copy of the game to go head-to-head with a friend.

  • Windy X Windam: Let it Breeze by you

I thought this game would be a little more compelling than what it is. A 2D Fighter with basically a one button attack doesn't really work that well. The story is limited in single player and the gameplay makes it a chore to just mash the attack button. Skip this one.

  • Didn't feel much like a fighting game

The game is honestly not that great. The controls felt awfully Clunky with only 2 being useful for attacking, movement is also horrible having a the need for a bar for the faster movement. The script isn't even that entertaining. The characters had a potential for a good series but this honestly felt more like a beat em up instead of a fighting game.
