Product Information
In this masterful biography of the Magellan of modern technology, Victor McElheny portrays a great inventor and entrepreneur in action. Second only to Edison in the number of patents he received (535), Land not only invented instant photography but he built a gigantic enterprise that turned out polarizers, high-speed and x-ray film, identification systems, 3D and instant movies, and military devices for aerial reconnaissance. He developed a new theory of color vision and, during the Cold War, spearheaded the development of the U2 spy plane. McElhenys insights into Lands innovative genius will speak to anyone interested in business, science, photography, or government. }If a single life exemplifies the inner drive that fires a great inventor, it is the life of Edwin Land. Seller Feedback (2,735)
- s***s (2970)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseCondition excellent, as described, well packaged, dispatched promptly.Excellent communication from seller. Arrived ahead of anticipated delivery dates. ARRIVED 1st May, expectected between 24th May and 3rd June. Thank you. No import tax payable. A very pleasing experience. Would recommend this seller. A book l have been seeking to replace for 7 years after it got misplaced when moving house after bereavement.
- a***l (338)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseAlthough the description details were misleading, the customer support was rather good. I ordered the 2-volume set of ‘Atlas Shrugged’, but received a single volume. It might not seem like much to others, but it’s a large book and a 2-set volume would have made it easier to read. In addition, poor packaging damaged the DJ. Anyways, after sending firm, yet precise and polite emails, the situation was promptly resolved, hence the positive feedback; and, why I would buy again from the seller. 👍
- c***r (537)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseBook as specified, rapid delivery (from USA to UK), and a reasonable price for the book. Overall, my book arrived in "ok quality" packaging. A padded "book mailer" envelope was used. However, inside, there was no other protective packaging. One small point of constructive feedback: perhaps cardboard packaging could have been implemented, as a number of competing book sellers are now implementing cardboard packaging, especially for higher price books subject to international delivery.
