Mini Masterpiece
Not the most well-known of the Disney features, and Walt himself spent a long time with the Mr Toad animation before he decided to add the Sleepy Hollow Story to make a book-end set complete. I found the Toad story characters endearing and the animation lively if a bit simply drawn. Wonderful backgrounds and music are found throughout. Basil Rathbone narrates the Toad, with Bing Crosby narrating the Sleepy Hollow Story as well as most of the voices. This title is one of Walt Disney’s lesser-known animated features. Nevertheless, it is classic and worth adding to any collection. The story is broken into two segments: one with The Wind and the Willows, and the other with Sleepy Hollow. The characters of Toad and Ichabod are very engaging. I love to watch this movie in the fall, especially that spooky Headless Horseman sequence! All on stunning Blu-ray definition!
