    Beautiful Addition to the Great Books

    The Great Books are a set of 54 volumes written by some of the greatest minds of all time. This set is an additional 6 volumes that fill up the most recent advancements in the field like the Social Sciences, Religion, and Science for example. They are a great 20th Century addition to the original 54 volume set. My set provides a beautiful compliment to my original 54 volume set and they bring the set up into through the Twentieth Century. This set I purchased on Ebay is slightly used but looks almost new. I highly recommend them.

    Perfect for all ages

    Since I am familiar with most of the content of this set and our 8 year old daughter is much more advanced beyond her age and grade level we had to get this set. We have had this set for about 2 weeks and our daughter has completed 3 works by Plato. She reads after completing school homework and reads each work twice to gain more understanding on the work before moving on. This is a must have if homeschooling, supplementing or you have a thirst for knowledge. Great for all ages even if they can not read it themselves you can take time to read it to them. There is no substitute! Start them off strong!! Best investment I have ever made!! Only wish we would have bought this set a year sooner.

    You Should Own This Collection

    The collection of writers in this 2nd Edition just leaves me awestruck and I have owned the collection for 30 years now and we bought it for ourselves as a late wedding gift. I still love to pick an author and read his/her best stuff. I don't think there is a weak author or a story here. Obviously I am impressed.

    Not what is pictured

    My item that I received is totally NOT what what’s pictured. It was a very thin “coffee table” type book that just discusses about some of the authors who make up the actual great books of the western world. Nice little book, but not what was ordered.
