Easy to convert a standard soft base pad.
Although I have not tried it out with a velcro pad on a job yet the pad does grip well to the base plate. It only takes 4 screws to fit and has converted my standard soft base pad to one where I can quickly change pads. Saves me cutting sheets of grit paper and punching holes. Time will tell how good the velcro grip lasts but as its only for DIY I dont expect any problems.

I am using my makita palm sander on a daily basis as part of my job. So far I've been using the velcro pad for over a week and its been great.No signs of a poor quality materials involved( i use to have once it and it shows quickly).I am applying quite a lot of pressure on the corner parts and it hold very well-no reduction of the pad in these corners.Thats great The price is lovely and it does exactly waht it was build for.Highly recommend it!I am using my makita palm sander on a daily basis as part of my job. Essential mod.
This makes changing paper so much easier. If you have a makita palm sander, buy it now. It’s just 4 screws to change the base. Yes, the Velcro pads are more expensive than rolls but it takes seconds to change them. No more fiddling about with those little levers.
