A great soldering iron sponge
At first glance the sponge looks too thin. However a few minutes soaking in clean water expands the sponge to a good thickness. In use, the sponge works well cleaning excess molten solder from the iron's tip.

sponge is the correct size for the antex st4 stand but is very thin and does not remind me of the original!

It needs water!
Perfect replacement if you actually put briefly in water - the foam is compressed and expands to fit the space in the iron stand.
