    A hard to find tool.

    This is a quality awl hasp with a good shape and size. I recommend this awl without any reservation about its quality or design. I would note that most awl blades do require some small amount of fettling too fit and work properly. in the 1960's you could buy an awl hasp at any saddlery or hardware store and get good advise on how to set them up now most hardware staff will direct you to a scratch awl or similar because they just do not know what a sewing awl is. Now the only quality hasps available are either the CS Osborne hasp or an expensive custom hasp. The others I have come across recently are cheap Asian made hasps that just do not seem to work properly. You would think it is a simple tool with a history thousands of years old would be an easy item to make in a modern world, but ...

    Excellent quality and easy to use.

    This Osborn sewing awl haft is a top quality haft. The hardwood handle is shaped perfect to fit the hand and the collet wrenches down firm on an awl. The collet wrench is included and works effortlessly to tighten. In my opinion, C.S. Osborne tools are the best quality tools.

    Perfect awl for all your projects

    Well made, feels welcome in your hand. I am a saddle maker and fits my needs perfectly. I like being able to use multiple size's and points for different areas of saddles and thickness's of leather. Work's for me....
