Excellent Product
I purchased these as an upgrade to my already excellent Coban Tele. Although the result is subtle, the brass saddles have reduced vitrually all of the shrillness I was getting, especially from the top two strings. Equally importantly the compensation has made a huge difference to adjusting the intonation to near perfection. Easy to fit, took just a few minutes to fit. Keenly priced, highly recommended.I purchased these as an upgrade to my already excellent Coban Tele. A simple very effective mod to any Telecaster that does not have brass bridge string tee,s
Have various guitars, some purchased new, some not new but modified by myself. My Telecaster is a copy of an early model with top loader bridge, its of unknown origins, fitted new custom neck with brass nut, fitted these compensated saddles and the transformation in sound quality was significant. With the right amp it now sounds and plays like a good telecaster should.

Quality brass compensated saddles for an easy upgrade.
I recently bought a Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series, Tele Style guitar, with the intentions of making many modifications. In all honesty, it required very little work. Mostly cosmetic. A wee bit of shielding for the electrics, some roller string trees, these fabulous Vanson Brass Compensated Saddles and I will be replacing the vintage Kluson style tuners with locking tuners. Other than that, the control panel needs slightly readjusting as it is a fraction out of line, a bone nut to replace the plastic one, some strap locks and that will be it. Although, somewhere down the line, I may look at a custom leather scratch plate too. The guitar plays like a dream. The neck is sublime. The pick ups are way beyond expectation and these wonderful Vanson saddles make setting the intonation a ... Spot-on Intonation!
Standard Telecaster three barrel precise intonation has always been a hit and miss affair but now these Vanson compensated replacements provide the ideal solution. Installation is child's play: just make sure that the odd (reversed) barrel is fitted in the centre position. I changed my strings at the same time, stretched and retuned them a couple of times and then checked the 12th fret intonation with an electronic tuner. It was just about perfect! These Vanson compensated Telecaster saddles are a great product and they do exactly what they are designed to do – that is, provide accurate intonation for a three saddle Tele without the expense of a six-saddle bridge. The review applies to a three saddle Fender American Special which came with factory supplied round brass saddles of 8mm / 5/16” diameter. That’s important – see below. This Tele is fitted with very heavy strings (14, 18, 28w, 40, 50, 60) and in spite of the low action (1,7mm at the 17th fret) the high string tension means no fret rattle and it rings like a piano. No effects boxes and it’s plugged straight into a tube/valve amp. With a tweak here and there it took a few weeks to get the original saddles to a reasonable intonation compromise but up beyond the eighth fret ... These Vanson compensated Telecaster saddles are a great product and they do exactly what they are designed to do – that is, provide accurate intonation for a three saddle Tele without the expense of a six-saddle bridge. Past the octave it got unpleasant. The Vanson compensated saddles fixed the problem. To save a bit of time I marked the approximate positions of the original saddles with a felt tip before replacing them. You don’t even need to remove the strings – just slacken each pair off so you can ease the old saddle out once you’ve unbolted it. Then replace with the Vanson and bring the pair back up to tension. Replacement took about 30 mins and fine adjustment about the same again. An easy job and perfect intonation. As mentioned above, my Tele came with 8mm / 5/16” diameter saddles and the Vansons are a direct replacement. However, some Telecasters are fitted with 6,35mm / ¼” saddles. For example, I’ve seen a Squier Tele with these small diameter saddles. If your Tele has this type you may need to file a couple of mm of the bottom of the Vansons or shim the neck to get the string height/action back down to where it should be. What I’m really saying is take some accurate measurements of your instrument’s setup before you start.
