Wanted a cheap powerhead pump to add extra oxygen and flow during this hot spell.This pump does just that.Would have given the extra star if the cable had been longer.

I don't really want much from a pump. Just pump water and don't be too loud really. Unfortunately this has had problems with both those in the couple of weeks I've had it. Sometimes its not too loud, other times it's making grinding noises. Sometimes it's pumping, other times it's not. When it works it's ok. But I'm looking for a better pump to replace this.

Although steppeded, the pump inlet nozzle doesn't fit the uplift tube welll resulting in some water being drawn in from the main body of the tank rather than all of it coming up the tube from the filter. I fitted a band to seal the gap which fixed it.

Produces good water flow and aeration but the pump its self is very noisy. I had to unplug & remove the unit after one day. There's nothing wrong that i could see from the pump, but its just too noisy for me.
