Very sturdy for the infirm to stand on, the only problem is I use it at all times at the back door, and the elements of the weather quickly turns the grey plastic part you stand on gets very worn and dirty, would be better in my opinion if the whole step was made of the black hard plastic, even with this problem it’s really a great step and totally safe for the infirm, I use mine all the time, it’s just a cosmetic problem, and it’s outside at my back door in all weathers
