Okay, this is not easy to install. You have to remove the inside trim and gently lower the headliner to get to the nut of the antenna, which has to be loosened to fit the gasket. You don’t have to take it all out just loosen the assembly enough to get the gasket over and underneath the aerial on one side to get the other side underneath it too. Also, it is not an exact match for my 1995 Golf. It is slightly bigger and does not fit as shown in the photo. But it has sealed the aerial in place now.
