Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Regulators
I would have given this regulator 5 stars but I haven't used it on deep enough dives yet, but I am sure it's going to be fine. Disclosure: I have been scuba diving since 1964 and have owned several regulators. They're simple devices, and all balanced first stage regulators breathe well and will work for your needs. I have been diving in various locations, over 1000 in Carmel, CA in all kinds of weather. I'm amazed that 1. dive shops sell expensive regulators 2. people buy them. They are not like cars; the performance differences between regulators is not detectable. I have been diving as a professional doing scientific work for decades. This regulator has a switch so it is less likely to free flow as you jump into the water, a useful feature. The mouthpiece also is comfortable. Some regulators have less comfortable mouthpieces. This has many ports for things like an inflator for your BC and a spare second stage "octopus". You can spend more money but there is really no reason to. The dive shops today are selling status symbols to people who don't know better sometimes. I have seen regulators for $1200 in shops, that's just crazy. Regulators have few parts and they're rebuildable almost forever. I can buy any regulator that I want and I bought this one because my other regulator was really looking sad with a cracked second stage and the chrome missing on the first stage. It's fun to buy a new piece of dive equipment every ten years or so.Read full review

Could not fault the unit after 5-years service in all conditions in depths ranging form 1.5 m (Cray fishing) to 60m (Truk) so I recently purchased the same unit for my new diving daughter and she loves it! The regulators are used mostly (99%) of the time in the cool temperate waters of Southern Australia (13 deg C to 21 deg C). They have also been taken on several trips to the tropics and have not performed any differently, survived the rigours of airline baggage handlers and most importantly had no service difficulties such as free flowing issues that I've observed on higher priced regulators

Bought this 1st and second stage regulator. I have used it 1 time and it worked good. Easy to breath. One point of caution. While the regulator was in dive mode mid point between surf and dive I was doing a regulator recovery but the reg was free flowing making it difficult to recover. I had to grab my octopus until I got it under control. Just keep it in mind when diving it needs to be in surf mood almost all the time.
